Main Street Station VA Engagement

Main Street Station in Richmond Virginia is an urban chic with lots of charm fully functional train station. It was the perfect location for these two transplants, Trevor and Joey’s engagement session. Trevor moved to Richmond in the summer of 2021 and asked a friend from college if he could join his LGBTQ+ kickball team to make new friends in a new city, which was his best decision. Joey was on the team and they first met at a team brunch that changed their lives!

Trevor and Joey’s first real date was pizza and a movie in the Fall of 2021. They visited a local pizza place and saw the James Bond movie. These two love to travel and have been to Atlanta, NYC, and San Francisco together with anticipation to travel more throughout their marriage. Trevor and Joey admitted that their lives are centralized around food so good food along their travels is a MUST! They enjoy meal planning and cooking together one does the prepping while the other cooking and vice versa.

Trevor loves Joey’s drive, dedication, selflessness as a volunteer in the community, and always wants things to be better for everyone else. He knew he wanted to marry him so he planned a proposal for him. Unfortunately the proposal didn’t go as originally envisioned. They had to cancel plans where the proposal was supposed to occur, Trevor was bummed and shared with Joey what his intentions were. During the conversation, Trevor said, “I’ll just do it right now!” and he did. Of course Joey said “Yes!” It wasn’t what Trevor had planned for at all, but knew he wanted to ask Joey and there was no better time!

We ended Trevor and Joey’s engagement session at the iconic T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge was breathtaking of the Richmond skyline and equally intense. The length of the bridge, large amounts of water underneath and remnants of the former hydroelectric dam are overwhelming. However the views were worth overcoming the minimal fear I had for the epic photos towards the end of their session even though we didn’t get the sunset that we had hoped for.
