The United States Capitol is breathtaking and one of the most iconic DC landmarks. Sally and Bradley’s relationship started in DC so it was full circle to capture their engagement session there. It was nerve wrecking for me because in my 10+ years in business I have never had a photography session in DC. However, these two made it worth it! And their engagement photos are iconic!

Sally and Bradley met as roommates. They had mutual friends that separately connected them to housing when they first moved to DC for work. Shortly after moving in they both realized they missed being outdoors and started going on hikes together. Their friendship grew from there and eventually became a relationship.

Bradley shared that he was drawn to Sally because she is thoughtful and considerate, always checking in on his feelings and comfort. Sally recalls starting their relationship during uncertainty through the pandemic so it allowed them to have lots of conversations. It was also comforting that they didn’t get annoyed with one another which showed them they could get through anything together.

Last year, Bradley planned the sweetest proposal. He told Sally that one of his old friends is coming to town and they planned to eat at O’Connell’s. They walked down to the Potomac in Old Town Alexandria and Bradley got down on one knee on the boardwalk. Sally of course accepted and thought it was so cool to celebrate with his friend at O’ Connell’s.

Little did Sally know that Bradley had planned a surprise engagement party complete with family and friends from all over. This was a huge feat because all of Sally’s family is spread out through the country so it was a big deal to get them all together. Sally noted that Bradley even thought to request the caterers for twice baked potatoes at the party, because she is a potato fanatic. It’s the little details!
