Burnside Farms tulip fields are as magical as I imagined they would be. They import thousands of tulip bulbs complete with 150 varieties from Holland every year to create this magical setting. Vickie knew instantly where she wanted her engagement photos. The season hadn’t opened yet so we monitored the website until tickets released. Vickie purchased ticket as soon as they became available, weather unknown. Unfortunately the day we selected was an abnormally cold and windy with a quick shower as we pulled into the parking lot. Although the challenges were present, I am in love with this photos of Vickie and Derek! They were troopers and killed it.

Now, on to their story. These two met at work when Derek’s Anesthesia group took over the Anesthesia department at the hospital Vickie worked at. They went on their first date in April 2022 to Five Guys! From then on they were “official.” Vickie and Derek love to eat and travel so a trip to Mexico wasn’t unusual for them. However this trip was different since Derek was planning to propose.

He hired a photographer and while they were walking on the beach. The photographer told them to stop so she could take some candids of Vickie alone. When Vickie turned around to Derek he was down on one knee! Their wedding is planned for this Fall and if it’s anything like the magic we created at Burnside Farms, it will be AMAZING!
