Some of you may have already heard or read this story. But since we are nearing our 1-year wedding anniversary I thought I would share moments from our story. The proposal, planning our wedding and the day of. I hope you enjoy reflecting back with me as much as I enjoy reminiscing on our memories. It all started in November of 2009, back when Myspace was still the cool thing. I had recently broke up with my ex and wasn’t looking for another relationship. I wanted to heal myself first but fate didn’t let that happen.
One day I received a friend request from TJ Curry…(accept) or (decline)?
It’s a good thing that I accepted the friend request or we may not be where we are today. After chatting online for a few days we agreed to meet. On Friday, December 4th, 2009 we met at the Front Royal Moose Lodge, Zach’s Birthday celebration, I walked into the Moose not knowing that I was going to meet my future husband. But I also met all of TJ”s closets friends. After spending some time at the Moose with his friends, we decided to go to the Bowling Alley and continue our night.
The night went well to say the least because we both agreed to see each other again.
On Sunday, the Cowboys played the New York Giants. Since both of us are Dallas fans we watched the game together. I think if I was a Redskins fan, we wouldn’t of gotten any further than the moose. His family are strong Dallas Cowboys fans. When I went to his parents house to watch the game I also met his parents, brothers and uncle. Unfortunately the Cowboys lost 24-31 but that didn’t matter because we enjoyed each other’s company. We have been together for over 4 years now, which have been filled with much love, many laughs, and surprises with ups and downs just like any other couple.
Throughout the past few years we have attended college, graduated with degrees, started new careers, expanded our family and really put into perspective what is important. In August 2010, I began my adventure at Shenandoah University to get my Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree. We purchase our home in March 2011 that we love and have began making improvements too (again future blog posts).
In August 2011, the first addition to our home was Dean, my red nosed pitty. He is the sweetest thing you will encounter and I am sorry for flooding your Facebook and Instagram feeds with photos of him, he is like our first born! In October 2013, we made our second addition, hard headed and sweet loving Leonard. He has been a challenge but his funny moments outweigh his craziness. We currently stand firm at a family of 4 and plan to expand our family in the future but for now we are loving our trips to the river and spending the evenings laying around.
On May 12th, 2012, I graduated from Shenandoah University with my BA. This is also the day that TJ proposed to me. That story is for next week, check back to see how he proposed. It is adorable and I promise you won’t want to miss it!
