Blush Wedding at The Winery at La Grange Haymarket Virginia

Blush Wedding at The Winery at La Grange, Haymarket, Virginia Elizabeth and Robbie had planned for over a year for their perfect summer wedding at The Winery at La Grange. As a matter of fact, they had checked the weather history for June 2 and found that it had only rained twice within the past ten years so they thought they were in the clear. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for this past week or weekend when the forecast was 90% chance of thunderstorms all week. It wasn’t until Friday when we realized that we would have patches of overcast clouds which we hoped to utilize for portraits. I packed umbrellas, rain boots and even ordered a new rain coat in preparation because nothing was going to stop me from capturing beautiful portraits of these two!

On Saturday, as I was driving to Gainesville to meet Elizabeth and her bridesmaids, I was shocked at how beautiful the weather was. It was cloudy and overcast but not terrible. I got an overwhelming peace that, “today is going to be perfect weather for a wedding!” AND IT WAS!

Due to the heavy rain we received that week, the ceremony couldn’t be near the vines as originally planned. However, the barrel room made for an intimate ceremony space for Elizabeth and Robbie’s friends and family to surround them. Robbie was overcome with emotion as Elizabeth was escorted down the aisle by her dad. Elizabeth and Robbie shared the sweetest personal vows to one another. Robbie couldn’t wait to say “I do” and didn’t even let the preacher finish causing everyone to laugh. All of their guests were emotional and shedding tears, myself included. They held hands and eagerly waited to be announced husband and wife. The shear love and admiration between Elizabeth and Robbie is undeniable.

Above all, the thunderstorm waited for us to finish portraits. The overcast allowed us to do photos anywhere and we utilized the grounds of La Grange for the most beautiful portraits of these two. I couldn’t keep Elizabeth and Robbie apart as they nuzzled, giggled, and soaked in every moment of the day! As they entered the reception and had their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect.” I realized the lyrics are just as perfect as the vows they exchanged. Unfortunately, the clouds did open shortly after as guests were getting dinner but that didn’t interrupt the dancing or the great time everyone was having.

Elizabeth and Robbie were most looking forward to being married and to share their happiness with their friends and family. They were both calm, excited, and overwhelmed with joy and eagerness to be married. Additionally, they made sure to take time out of the day to be with one another. Elizabeth and Robbie had two special requests. First, they wanted to have 5 minutes after the ceremony to step away and be together. Second, the couple wanted to have final dance at their reception for just the two of them to soak in the last minutes of their wedding day!
