Kelsey and Sam were married on a Friday afternoon at The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay in Woodbridge, VA. I had the privilege of photographing their wedding alongside Audrey Rose Photography as her second shooter. As I drive to the venue my anxiety always gets the best of me and nerves are evident having never met the couple. I want to do my absolute best serving this sweet couple on their special day, while representing another photographer’s business.
Shortly after arriving I met Kelsey, she was radiating an uncanny calm. Everyone surround Kelsey, her sister and best friends had a contagious joyfulness about them. It was evident that everyone had been waiting for this wedding for a long time. When I met Sam, I could tell he was nervous. He wanted everything to be perfect for his bride. He asked frequently how she was doing and got increasingly nervous as the ceremony approached.
Kelsey’s father escorted her down the aisle as Sam stood anxiously at the alter. The emotion came over all the guests as Kelsey made her way to Sam. He has begun to shed tears of joy and happiness seeing his future wife. Her dad gave her away and she and Sam held hands during the ceremony. When they exchanged personal vows he began to get emotional again which was just the sweetest. It was obvious how much these two love one another and how connected they are.
Even though I only met this couple the day of their wedding they welcomed me in and I felt like part of their family. They served breakfast for their meal which consisted of every breakfast wish including freshly made waffles, fruit, and whipped cream! Kelsey and Sam snuck away during the reception for romantic sunset photos and it was 100x worth it!
