Homestead Farm Winchester Virginia Wedding

The Homestead Farm in Winchester was the perfect venue for Catie & Collin’s May wedding last year. I photographed this barn wedding alongside Nikki as her second photographer. I enjoy working with friends in the industry to see new venues, meet great couples and capture gorgeous photos. Collin and Catie’s was nothing short of that.

As a second shooter I get to mainly work with the guys for the first part of the day. I photograph them the same way I do the bride. Collin and Catie’s love for equestrian began with Collin’s detail. I start by photographing his details, belt, belt buckle, and hat were his statement items and very important to him. I captured Collin’s mom putting his finishing touches on which is always a sweet moment between a mom and son.

Then I took photos of the groom alone because he is the reason for the celebration. Then Collin with his guys, formal and acting silly to capture the relationship between the guys. As a big sister of three brothers, it feels normal for me to spend time with the groomsmen on the wedding day and Collin and his guys were no different.

Collin and Catie’s love for equestrian continued to show as Catie was escorted to the aisle by a horse drawn carriage. As her dad walked her to Collin, Collin was overwhelmed by emotion. His best man, his dad had to hold him up to support him. Above all, I could feel the love these two had for one another. Their wedding was so sweet.
