Mary and Chip celebrated their marriage at Historic Long Branch after a recommitment ceremony at Grace Episcopal Church. These two were legally married last year because they didn’t want to put their love on hold. They married with a small group of friends and family with plans to have a bigger celebration. That big celebration finally happened for them this past Saturday. So in between rain showers and high winds, Mary and Chip recommitted to one another.
A recommitment ceremony is typically done at 10, 20 or 25 years. However in the years of uncertainty and rules being broken, Mary and Chip decided why not. It didn’t make sense to have another marriage ceremony when they had already done that. However they wanted a formal ceremony for their friends and family to witness. So we gathered at Grace Episcopal Church for Pastor Justin to pray over Mary and Chip and their marriage.
After the ceremony we traveled to Historic Long Branch to celebrate. However on our way there we noticed rain sprinkles and dark clouds. We were well into cocktail hour when our phones went off with 60 mph high wind warning and to take shelter. Therefore we quickly moved from the tent to the gorgeous historic house to let the storm pass. Thankfully it was quick and the evenings events were able to continue with a live band!
Mary and Chip endured a lot with rescheduling, marrying during covid, high winds and heavy rain but they took each obstacle with grace. Because of everything they have endured, I know they can get through anything together!
