Some of you may have noticed that I didn’t blog last week and was posting tropical photos. I haven’t lost my mind. But I made a spur of the moment decision to go to Dominican Republic with my best friend! I mean we discussed it, decided to go, booked plan tickets, and were in the air all within 7 days! It was so crazy and not like me at all. We were on our way to Reagan Airport at 3:30 a.m. thanks to the best dad in the world. He was dropped us off even though we were headed to 80 degree weather while he was left home. We were off for our 7 days tropical vacation in December, right before Christmas…crazy right?
We had a connection flight in Miami, Florida, which was a huge airport and it seemed we toured the whole thing because our arrival and departure flights were on opposite ends of the airport. (Photo from the artwork in Miami, Peace & Love all made out of flowers).
We arrived in Punta Cana on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and checked into our gorgeous resort, the Hard Rock Casin and Golf Resort (jealous husband).
And then we got to see our room….yes ladies and gentleman, that is a Jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room. We didn’t even use it because we stayed on the beach all the time 🙁
This beautifully decorated Christmas tree was located in the main lobby of the resort and was absolutely stunning. It was decorated with Swarovski ornaments and just plain huge!!!
Everything was beautiful, even the sinks!!!
All dressed up and ready to dance one evening. 😀
Punta Cana style Tiramisu…looks different but DELICIOUS…tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts!
Brittany and I spent most of our time on the beach reading. We read 5 books while we were away, chapter by chapter, we read our romance love stories out loud to one another. This is me being silly while listening to Brittany ready to me…
Our Swan!!!
There were a few days while we were there that weren’t ideal. The wind was strong and the sun wasn’t out but we didn’t let that stop us, we still hit the beach…covered up in our towels but we weren’t wasting any time.
The view of paradise!
I hated to say good bye but the flight home was bittersweet. We were leaving a gorgeous tropical island but I was ready to come home and celebrate the holiday with my family. Not to mention I had some pretty good views from my window seat on the plane, until next time Punta Cana (my favorite vacation destination….thus far).
Hope you enjoyed my iPhone photos from my spur of the moment trip to the Dominican, please don’t judge!
