Spring Dogwood Virginia Engagement

Spring under the dogwood trees was pure magic for Chloe and Vijay’s engagement session. What better way to get diversity in your photos than two different seasons! These two are tying the knot this month with an Indian wedding. And, they get to celebrate again in the winter for their Western wedding. How many people do you know get to have two weddings?

Chloe and Vijay met in college, however the when and how is different depending on who you ask. Chloe recalls it being finals week when she needed a mutual friend to print a paper for her. Vijay was there hanging out with friends. However, Vijay recalls meeting Chloe in the hallway on his way to do laundry. Thankfully they connected.

Their first date was over winter break where they spent 3 hours. Both not wanting the dinner to end. Vijay remembers driving home that night and realizing how much he liked her so he called her. She remembers being nervous to pick up but did and they continued to chat on their drive home. After several occurrences of long distance dating between college, starting careers, and growing individually over the years these two got stronger. After Chloe graduated from PA School, she made the decision to move from Virginia to Maryland to be with Vijay. They got a pup together, Pete!

The proposal story starts when Vijay designed the ring and entrusted his brother and sister-in-law to hold it for him. Chloe loved patting him down on all of his pockets before they would go anywhere nice. Vijay distracted Chloe by stating they were staying in an AirBnB in Annapolis. Therefore, her mind would be focused on their stay and not a proposal. Once in Annapolis, they stopped at the State House to explore. However, it also gave Vijay time to collect the ring while the ladies were busy.

They then walked to the spot Vijay previously identified, which was a garden. Vijay got nervous. So he went straight to the spot began to ask the question while holding her hands. Although most of the flowers had died and it wasn’t exactly what Vijay pictured. Chloe said she blacked out but said yes. After a moment, they were met with clapping from a couple watching from afar. Coincidentally the couple got engaged on the same day as Chloe and Vijay 8 years earlier!

Although the flowers had mostly died at their proposal, we more than made up for it at their Spring engagement session under the dogwoods with all of the blooms around! I can’t wait for their winter wonderland wedding later this year!
