Rady Park in Warrenton is a quaint park in Brittany and Jake’s “hometown.” Although these two are from Massachusetts, they call Warrenton home. We met on a chilly January afternoon for their engagement session. Brittany and Jake are high school sweethearts. They met in June of 2009, yes over a decade ago. At the time they were both at a graduation party in their hometown of Bellingham, Massachusetts.
After graduating from college Jake was offered a position that relocated him to Virginia. Shortly after, Brittany realized it was time to decide if she would be moving to a different state. She knew it was the next big monumental step in their relationship. It was then that Brittany knew that Jake was the one. She couldn’t picture herself staying in Massachusetts while he moved away. They purchased their home, adopted a dog and began their careers.
The long awaited proposal came during a trip back to their home state of Massachusetts. While visiting for the Christmas holidays in 2019, Brittany and Jake planned to go to a light show. Friends were joining them, but the friends canceled on them last minute. Brittany and Jake still decided to go. A redwood tree decorated for the holidays caught Brittany and Jake’s eye as they walked through the light show. They both decided to stop and take some pictures to enjoy the moment. Next thing Brittany knew Jake was on one knee proposing. To Brittany’s surprise, the friend that canceled was actually in hiding on a bench and was able to capture the whole moment.
After a decade of dating, Brittany and Jake are ready to finally be getting married to one another. Spending the day with all of their family and friends on the wedding day is something they look forward to. But above all, they look forward the most for what’s to come after. Both of them can’t wait to start a family and I have no doubt that both, Brittany & Jake, will be amazing parents when the time comes.
