Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg is breathtaking! It was so much fun adventuring a new venue with Bridget and Daniel for their engagement session. We had the perfect Fall day for these two who traveled from Jersey. Today is one year to the day these two get married. I am sad I won’t get to spend time with these two for another 365 days but I know it will be worth it. I mean check out these engagement photos!

Bridget and Daniel met their junior year of college at Mary Washington. Bridget recalls having a class together with Daniel and thinking he was cute. She knew they had mutual friends and heard there was a house party. Bridget was determined to talk to him at the party so she walked right up to him and introduced herself. She knew what she wanted and she went for it.

Daniel said he knew Bridget was the one when he could not see himself with anyone else. She makes him laugh and challenges him to be better. He recalls knowing early on that Bridget was the one for him. Bridget recalls also knowing early on that she could see herself falling for Daniel before they even started dating. There was a specific moment where they were walking back from a bon fire and they stopped and hugged and Bridget remembers thinking, if he asked her to marry him right here, she would say yes!

But he didn’t ask then, however he did ask! Bridget and Daniel were moving apartments and to celebrate officially moving, Daniel had their friends invite them to dinner. The restaurant was right near a marina which was Bridget’s favorite spot in Jersey City. After dinner they walked to the marina and Daniel proposed. Bridget had no idea because they just moved but of course said, YES! Here’s to waiting 365 days until these two are on the blog again!
