Shenandoah Lodge Lake Frederick Virginia Wedding

Last June I had the pleasure of working with a dear photography friend, Shannon of Shannon Hodges Photography. We spent a Friday afternoon at
Shenandoah Lodge at Trilogy Lake Frederick for Andrew and Melanie’s wedding. Andrew and Melanie were the sweetest people and so excited to get married. They had a “longer” engagement and craved being announced as Mr. and Mrs. to then celebrate the night away with their families.

Lake Frederick is the perfect venue for a wide variety of portrait locations, inside and out. Inside there is the skyline room, the paddock, and main foyer that is a hint of Joanna Gaines with a touch of nautical inspiration. Outside, there is the garden terrace, lakeside lawn and beautiful grounds all around. We utilized the lakeside lawn for Andrew and Melanie’s portraits and it didn’t disappoint with the view of Lake Frederick!

I noticed while photographing details of the reception space that there were pieces of sheet music and musical note party favors throughout. Andrew shared with me that he is a fellow Shenandoah University student. However, we would never have run into one another because he is in the Music Education program and I am not musically inclined.

It was obvious at the reception the passion for music ran deep in the family. I have never seen a family jump up so fast when the dance floor was open. They had some fancy dance moves that I had to include in this post. In conclusion, I wish you many years of happiness Andrew and Melanie!
