Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery  in Delaplane held the Inspire Workshop in November.  Candice Adelle Photography and Heather Chesky Photography combined forces to bring us two full days of high school senior and wedding photography education. The first day began with breakfast to meet the photographers in attendance. After meeting everyone, we jumped right in on learning flat lays.

Candice shared her knowledge on how she starts every wedding day with the bridal details. The bridal details are all the small pieces that make the couples love story. This informs the guests of the date and venue. The invitation suite is the first insight on the color and theme of the wedding. These pieces of information are important to the wedding day.

Candice shared her system to ensure all detail items are photographed at least once. She shared her tips and tricks to get beautiful images with dimension, balance, and variety. In addition, Candice had multiple invitation suites available for us. This allowed us to practice with all types of invitation suite pieces.

After that, we continued with the wedding knowledge and even had a couple model for us as a mock engagement session. These two were naturals in front of the camera and so adorable. Candice shared with us her posing flow live. Once we finished photographing the couple, we had the opportunity to shift gears. Similarly we learned senior posing from Heather. She shared with us her process for posing and ensuring the senior is comfortable while capturing variety easily.

The first day was hands on and creative. Whereas the second day was intense knowledge about running the business. We discussed pricing, timelines, educating our clients, and showcasing what we offer. We covered everything from the initial consultation to the end of final product delivery. The second day was very intense but filled with lots of beneficial knowledge.

In conclusion, I share this to ensure you that I am always wanting to improve myself, my business and my experience. Above all, I want my clients to have the best experience with me. Learning from seasoned photographers is how I do that. I make it a point to attend an educational event or complete an online course annually. You should never stop learning!
