Sarah and Tad’s love for baseball and their dog Dallas made Sherando Park the perfect location for their engagement session. We had to postpone Sarah and Tad’s engagement session due to COVID but the wait was worth it. We explored a new park they had never been too with the most luscious greenery and perfect sunlight peaking through. Dallas got to adventure the fields and go for a walk. But most importantly we got to take photos at the baseball stadium. Sarah joked that Tad’s love for baseball was very close to his love for her! I didn’t believe her especially during their session. Tad couldn’t keep his eyes off Sarah and his smiles throughout said it all!
Their good friend Patrick is the reason these two are together. They originally met at a poker party Patrick was hosting but didn’t really hit it off. Sarah thought Tad took the game too seriously. She also thought he didn’t find her funny. However, at a Cinco De Mayo Party Patrick was hosting three years later they were reacquainted. Sarah recalled that she thought Tad was cuter then she remembered and they enjoyed talking to one another. They flirted all night, he walked her to her car and hugged her goodbye. He realized he never got her number but thankfully Patrick saved the day and gave Tad Sarah’s number and they started texting a few days later! That Patrick is a great friend!
They had their first official date in Downtown Winchester when they went to Chopsticks Cafe for sushi. After dinner they walked around down town, got drinks at 50/50 tap house, and then Tad tried to push Sarah into the fountains on the splash pad. He again walked Sarah to her car like a gentleman, shared in their first kiss and said good night. These two have been inseparable since. The rest is history like they say.
Sarah waited four long years for Tad to propose but said it was worth the wait. She recalled they were in Holden Beach, North Carolina for a family vacation. She hoped he would propose on the trip. Tad made mention he wanted both of her parents blessing before proposing. They were at the beach with Sarah’s dad and had seen her mom before they left so it had to be the perfect time. Sarah said she got all dressed up, did her hair and makeup, which is hard at the beach with heat and humidity. She waited all day for him to get down on one knee. The original plan was to see fireworks from the beach but a rain storm had canceled those so she only assumed that meant no proposal.
She admits after holding her breath all day, that at 9:30 she started to pout. Tad being the sweetheart he is questioned what was wrong. Sarah responded with her disappointment of it being 9:30 and she assumed he had planned to propose. They talked for a bit and then Tad asked Sarah to sit on the porch with him to watch the fireworks. About 10 minutes later Tad went inside and when he came back out he started pushing on Sarah’s rocking chair and said “Guess what?” As he started to get down on one knee Sarah said, “No!” Because she had just been pouting about not having a proposal yet.
Tad then explained that it was because he loves her and wants to marry her! Sarah said “Yes” after multiple questions regarding if it was a joke and if he was serious. They sat on the porch together for a while and then went inside to announce to their family. Sarah said there were lots of tears and hugs. These two are literally the sweetest pair and I can not wait for their wedding at Bowling Green Country Club later this year!
