50 West Winery in Middleburg is a great substitute to hopping a plane and flying to Napa. Allison and Nick met in 2014 when they worked together at a restaurant called, “Not Your Average Joes.” What started as an acquaintance, flourished into friendship and eventually turned into their first date. In July 2017 they went on their first official date to see XMEN and enjoy a dinner at one of my favorites Uncle Julios. These two self proclaimed foodies love spending time in the kitchen and trying new recipes. What pairs better with food than good company but also wine!
Last year, Allison and Nick planned a trip to Napa, CA for their annual trip. It was the last day of the week long trip and they had to be at the San Francisco airport by 7 p.m. so they had time to kill. They intentionally kept their last day itinerary pretty open and relaxed. They decided to explore more of the wine country and wineries. Nick took Allison to Beringer Vineyards, which is one of the oldest vineyards in Napa. The property has a picturesque Victorian style mansion that Allison kept mentioning she wnated a photo in front of.
Turns out as they were walking around, Nick was envisioning the perfect spot to propose on the property. Towards the end of the tour they head to the front of the property to get the picture Allison wanted in front of the mansion. Coincidentally, there was a professional photographer taking photos fo the estate for Beringer’s website. Nick called him over and asked him to take a photo of them and he does. They take a few photos and Allison is happy but then Nick has one final photo request. To Allison’s surprise, she turns to prep herself for the photo and finds Nick on one knee, proposing! She said yes and it was all captured by the photographer!
Nick’s friend owns the property at 50 West Winery and the location, views, and vibes were on point for their engagement session! It’s right off the main road but tucked away so all you see and enjoy are the mountains and breeze! Now to get these two married in September!
