Sometimes I feel like I am getting together with two friends when I photograph couples for their engagement photos. Brittany was a #FranziLeeSenior and Trey has even made an appearance in front of my lens for family photos. It was tough at times to get photos because we were chatting so much but I thoroughly enjoyed our evening together at Blandy Farm.

Brittany and Trey went to High School together. They never dated while in High School but they knew of each other. Shortly after graduating in 2015, their graduating class lost a fellow classmate, Cody Lloyd in an ATV accident. Cody and Trey were good friends. Cody would always try to get Trey to talk to girls and get him to date but Trey never did. Brittany knew Trey and Cody were close, so she messaged him on Facebook to express her sympathy. That one message turned into many more messages and eventually a first date. Their first date consisted of Italian food and Jurassic World.

They both knew their time together would be cut short when Brittany left to attend Longwood. But shortly after Brittany started, she realized that Trey was special. He would work all day and travel the 3 hours to Longwood on Friday and leave on Sunday to travel the same 3 hours back. Brittany soon realized that he was the one she was going to spend the rest of her life with. They have EVERYTHING in common! They have a huge love for sports, food and for one another. The amount of love they have for what they believe in is amazing.

Trey proposed on July 11, 2017, just a few short days after their dating anniversary because he didn’t want to be predictable. Brittany didn’t think a Facebook message would lead to being engaged to the love of her life. But here they are planning the wedding of their dreams with their friends and family. Brittany and Trey say that Cody is the one that brought them together.
