I had the privilege of photographing Kylee and Sam’s Mt Stirling Plantation classic southern wedding alongside Audrey Rose Photography as her second shooter. I had no expectations as I had never been to Providence Forge much less Mt Stirling Plantation. As I drove down the tall tree lined driveway, through the gate, the brick building grew larger as I neared. I was elated when I realized Kylee and Sam would be getting married in front of that very building. The team creating the wedding magic were the sweetest and most helpful group of people. A perfect southern wedding complete with blush peony bouquets, monograms, lace wedding gown, BBQ buffet, cornhole, and a biscuit bar.
Kylee was stunning and so sweet as I captured photos of her getting ready with her mom buttoning up her gown. Kylee shared a first look with her father which was so special as they hugged and shared tears. Sam didn’t see Kylee prior to the wedding as they wanted to keep it traditional. But one thing that wasn’t traditional were the preachers first words, “Mawwiage, mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today!” It was the first time I had ever witnessed that in person and it was hysterical. That is a line from the movie Princess Bride.
Kylee and Sam’s wedding was filled with overwhelming love from family and friends. There were tear filled toasts from the groom’s brother and the best dance moves to date! The weather and Mt Stirling Plantation’s grounds were ideal for everyone sharing in laughs throughout the night playing cornhole. I didn’t feel like a photographer or vendor at their wedding, I felt like a guest. Best wishes to the beautiful couple for a lifetime of happiness!
